Jay F. and I were going to ride the Rim trail in Snowmass but weather upvalley looked dicey. Instead we decided to ride Basalt Mountain.  Fortunately we ran into Jim L. in the parking area and he joined our ride.  After making sure we all had rain gear we headed up B.M. to the Mill Creek trail which is mostly dry.  There were a few places where we had to get off and walk to avoid mud.  The Cattle Creek singletrack that brings you back to the Ditch trail was also muddy in places.  We met a brave, curious  duckling who greeted us creekside .  I may upload video of him.  As we were finishing our ride on the Ditch trail a few drops of rain started to fall but we made it out before it poured.  Fun ride.
